SIZING: HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DOGChoosing the Right Size
Choosing the right size helps create a calm, comfortable retreat your dog will genuinely enjoy using.
What you’ll need: a measuring tape, your dog standing on level ground, and something to note your measurements.
Puppy prepping?
If you’re preparing for a puppy, estimate based on the breed and the adult size measurements your breeder can provide.
While weight can be a helpful reference, length and height measurements are the most accurate way to determine the right fit.
Measure Length
With your dog standing naturally, measure from the tip of the nose to where the tail meets the spine (do not include the tail).
Add approximately 5–10 cm to determine the minimum internal crate length, depending on how your dog prefers to rest and move.
Measure Height
Measure from the base of the paw to the top of your dog’s head.
Add approximately 4-5cm to determine the minimum internal crate height.
Factor in the height of the bed. If you're using a Flat bed, factor in a 6-7cm mattress
Guidelines
These measurements assume the crate will be used primarily as a resting space and your dog is crate-trained and comfortable in their crate. We recommend responsible crate training practices and do not recommend leaving your dog unattended if they repeatedly show signs of distress, forceful behaviours or damage.
Size guideline
They are intended as a guide only - please also consider your dog’s full adult size, how they use the crate, and where the crate will sit within your home.
If your dog prefers more room to stretch, shift, or settle, we recommend sizing up for added comfort and ease.
If you’re unsure between sizes, our team is always happy to help guide you before ordering.
These guidelines assume your dog is comfortable with crate use and has been introduced gradually. Crates should always be used as a positive, voluntary space - never for punishment or extended confinement.
